B Indulgent: Weekend treats

This weekend I tried my best to relax and let go. I may have let go a bit too much.
Baked cupcakes. {cake batter was a weakness.}

Meal of champions? Frozen hot chocolate and butter cream cupcake. {recipe to come}

Blog research inserted occasionally between a day of pure laziness. {India, what do you think?}

Sunday morning spin class was followed by brunch at Over Easy. {Guy Fieri ate there.}

Over easy ice-cold brewed with cinnamon & cardamom & mixed with sweetened condensed milk & mint. {refreshing.}

And a new project began. {curious?}

 quick nail polish change. {find color here.}

B Broken: Alice + Olivia MAC collection

Alice + Olivia MAC cosmetics collection will be released in the U.S. today. I can't wait to get my hands on the nail polishes in Turquoise, Purple and Silver matte. The polishes are titled Morning After, So Rich So Pretty, and Military, so you determine which suits you best.

If you are more daring to wear make up you'll love the limited edition colored pigment. A year ago I broke away with just wearing pink on my nails and now I'm dying for the purple. Maybe this year I'll break into eye pigment thanks to Stacey Bendet the mastermind behind Alice + Olivia. I'll keep you posted.

Available online and at MAC cosmetic stores

B Blue

  In a previous post I explained how I have sometimes become color obsessed. Last time it was coral and without even realizing it I guess I was feeling a bit blue. Turquoise, sky, cerulean-- there are alot of different shades of blue and they've all found their way into my closet.

Tory Burch 'Miller' Logo Thongs are the perfect compliments to brightly painted toes! Try a color other than blue so that they pop against the turquoise. If you ever paid attention in art class you should know that orange would be a great compliment.
This is one of my favorite finds from Urban Outfitters recently, finding its way into every ensemble. I bought with this gut feeling I had seen it somewhere. Just a mere week later, looking through old pictures I discovered my best friends owns it. Typical.

Banana Rebuplic is my secret jewelry go-to place. I always find miraculous pieces with killer price points during sales. Add BR to your next jewelry find checklist.

Anthropologie never does me wrong. While getting distracted in search of a graduation present I came upon this necklace and even pretended that my intention was to give it to the graduate. But when really when there is only one left, I knew who it was coming home with. (Thankfully I didn't, she owns that one too!)

If you've been reading Just B long enough you should know this post wouldn't get far without a mention of some nail polish. You've already seen Chanel Turqouise and I loved so much I just kept finding other suitable blues. OPI's No Room For The Blues is vibrant and a good hue for summer. And in a last minute phone order I chose Artful Dodger from Butter London and can't wait to try it.. only so many fingers and toes.

B Jelly

It was only just a handful of years ago where we were all running around the playground in jelly sandals. Who's happy they're making a comeback? I'm loving all the jelly that is perfect for summer and running around.

Tory Burch introduced her Jelly reva flats last year that come in the most adorable of summer colors. Something new she came out with this season is her basic Thora sandal in jelly as well!

Jimmy Choo is also following the jelly suit with their 'Maui' Jelly Thong. The turquoise color is a perfect compliment to your summer denim or your turquoise Chanel polish on your toes!
 Jelly isn't coming out just in footwear either but in nail polishes! Butter London's newest collection is titled appropriately 'Jelly' as the nail polish is sheer and meant to layer. One coat for subtle, 2 for color and 3 for pure color. You can also layer over each other and make new colors!

Another jelly for your wrist is Michele's 'Tahitian Jelly Beans' watch. Every woman should have a white watch for spring and summer but personally I am a fan of the lime green. Something unexpected always gives an outfit interest.

B Nailed

It's about that time again where I get all giddy and excited over nail polishes. Okay, so this may be an all the time affair but rather than flooding the blog with numerous posts i thought I'd squeeze in my favorite summer shades into one! Just so happens that there are some celebrities that agree with me...

Essie Pink Parka
Rihanna, Victoria Beckham, and Cassie are just a few of the many celebrities that are sporting neon pink nail polish. The bright neon is something no one will miss this summer. Try to keep nails short with color to keep it fashion forward and not dated. Scared of the neon? First try it on toes!

Chanel 527 Turquoise
As seen on some of the likes of Whitney Port, turquoise nails are hot this summer! This color was part of Chanel's summer collection and a beauty must have. Stores have sold out quickly so be sure to snag yours. Try Nordstrom or Chanel boutiques.

Essie Tart Deco
You've all seen Oprah's favorite things and when Oprah says you have to have it you have to it! Just so happens that I was gaga over this color before noticing that it one of Oprah's cosmetics O-Wards. The lighter orange is a great compliment color to any skin tone and a step away from just a pale pink.

B Extreme

Chanel is doing it to me again, releasing a new limited edition black and gold series. This collection was shown on their 2010 Paris Ready to Wear runway and now at the top of my shopping list! The nail polish also has a dueling eye shadow that is perfect for sultry eyes. A dramatic change just in time for summer nights is exactly what we needed, thank you Chanel!

B Mad

I bet this isn't news to you but a remake of the childhood classic, Alice in Wonderland is coming to life by Tim Burton. I know surprise surprise, I say that sarcastically because you can't walk anywhere without seeing a new line of merchandise or poster catching on to the mad mad phenomenon.

OPI collection was one of the first of the craze with their Alice in Wonderland collection including colors such as Absolutely Alice, Off with her Red!, Thanks so muchness and my personal favorite Mad as a hatter. Beauty stores couldn't keep these colors in the stores long enough for everyone to see every color. I still buy a new bottle every time I see a straggler just in case I run out of my favorite shade. Another beauty brand Urban Decay also created their own line of Alice in Wonderland "Book of Shadows" and have quickly sold out.

Along with these two beauty empires I myself got caught up in the crazy wonderland in my own group project with school. If you have taken time to read 'About B' then you have noticed that along with keeping up with 'Just B' I am also a student studying fashion marketing. I have had many projects so far in my education but this is one I am very proud to be behind. It all began with an idea that led to inspiration which then became why 'we're all MAD here'.

Alice in Wonderland is a story that we've grown up with and the mastermind of Tim Burton will just be creating another world for us to fall for. Hold your breath for a very important date on March 5th.

B Bright

It didn't take me long to head to my nearest beauty shop to buy the OPI Hong Kong collection once it hit the shelves. And not much longer after that did i already have "A good man-darin is hard to find" painted on my nail beds.

I have always felt that orange is a hit or miss color. it is rare that orange is my first color choice but I'm glad I have discovered that orange is possible. Like most purchases of mine they happen quick. I know what I like so when I saw the M. Haskell necklace on a mannequin it didn't take long for it to be on my neck.

When pairing bright accessories be care careful with your other clothing/accessory selection. Less is more and the orange necklace will give enough of a statement for it all. Don't be shy about orange, just try it once and you may find it will brighten your day!

B Picky

I have had the reputation of being very picky. I am very certain to what I may eat and when (never leftovers) and I prefer well made denim that give me the perfect fit compared to the pair you will have to re wash before every wear. Though I remained picky in my shopping choices in 2009 that doesn't mean I didn't let some cases slip by me. That is why I have created some essentials for 2010. Some may be what you might call 'resolutions' but others are just pure items I don't want to live without in the next decade or season.

OPI Nail Polish: 2009 may have created a nail polish junkie in myself that I cannot walk into a beauty supply store without a new shade. OPI nail laquer always has the best colors embarking on new trends without mentioning their adorable titles!

J Brand Denim: On days where work will keep me from wearing blue denim, you can find me in my black skinnies. I live in them, I sell them constantly because they are the best fit I've had. So comfortable and flattering they are essential to your closet to break the mold of blue denim. Though there is a reason why blue denim is a classic and J Brand does the classic justice. While J Brands are known for running a bit small unlike many other denims, it is rare that they will stretch out. J Brand's spring washes are going on my NEED list.

Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant: Never thought I'd write about deodorant on my blog huh? Well don't skip over this. There are a few things that stick with you from high school. Those that do are very important to you and this is one of them. For years I have done nothing but rave about this Donna Karan deodorant! I can't live without it. It lasts forever, doesn't have that annoying deodorant smell and goes on easily. You would have to think this a great product for $18. I know it sounds crazy but it lasts forever and will out beat any cheap product at the drugstore. If you want to wait for a deal, almost every year Nordstrom sells a pack of 3 of the product for their Anniversary Sale. I buy a new pack every year and it lasts me more than over the year.

B Excited

The nail polish must be getting to my head because it is all that is on my brain right now. For the last month I keep seeing small advertisements in my monthly induglences of Vogue and Elle for OPI's new collection titled Hong Kong. I frustrating only see the Alice in Wonderland collection (equally fabulous) though only in the beauty supplies stores. So after a long wonderance of where will this collection be available? I have answers! February 3rd is when the vibrant collection will hit stores.

A few of these new shades include "A Good Man-darin is Hard to Find", "Suzi Says Feng Shui", and "Dim Sum Plum". I can't wait!

B Nude

Apologies to my readers who have been checking back to see if I've written any new posts. I'm sorry to have disappointed for so long! The 2010 year already has me busy as a bee and so I thought it was only fitting for my first post of the new year I let you know one of my recent 2010 obsessions.

Months ago during Spring 2010 Fashion week we saw loads of neutrals on the runway in sheers, solids, textures. Crisp clean white will be the upcoming trend and while that is what you'll be wearing on your body you can't forget about your nails. Last fall Chanel created a phenomenon with the Jade nail lacquer, their new shades for spring will soon be seen everywhere. While the 505 Particuliere has already made a statement in the blogs and I am equally mad about the taupe color. I can't get over being nude on my nails.

Chanel 503 Inattendu is the perfect shade for spring. While purples are not leaving my nail collection, the subtly of the nude makes everyone check twice what is on your nails. You can also try OPI Dulce de Leche in the case that the Chanel 503 creates a statement and follows Jade suit.

B Rewarded

Wow so it does not feel like it was just yesterday I was posting, B Jaded, about Chanel's new jade nail color. It feels like a month rather than a couple weeks when I pre-ordered the nail polish. When October 1st arrived, I raced to Chanel.com to find my beloved Jade nail polish was already out of stock. I quickly called my nearest Nordstom and found that the nail polish will only be sold in Chanel boutiques and online. Well what do I do now? I realized that Nordstom number 1 store in downtown Seattle has a boutique inside of their Nordstrom. Quickly I call, and success! I am am allowed to pre order my delicious nail polish. So finally the wait was over and I am allowed to grace my nails with the presence of Jade.

8 months ago Jade was debuted on the Chanel Fall 2009 RTW runway
1 months ago Who What Wear featured the Jade nail polish as a hot commodity
3 weeks I blogged about my newest obsession
4 hours ago I came home to a little cardboard box on my doorstep
1 hour ago FINALLY it is on my nails

Now I am on to waiting for my next obsession.
