B Mesmerized: Colorful statement necklaces

I can't wait till the Fall season is upon us. I am over sandals and sad for my boots collecting dust in my closet. But there are a few things I'm trying to hold onto before the Summer season is behind us. Once Fall hits muted tones will be back but no reason to not fight the camel hues a bit with these colorful necklaces!

B Blue

In a previous post I explained how I have sometimes become color obsessed. Last time it was coral and without even realizing it I guess I was feeling a bit blue. Turquoise, sky, cerulean-- there are alot of different shades of blue and they've all found their way into my closet.

Tory Burch 'Miller' Logo Thongs are the perfect compliments to brightly painted toes! Try a color other than blue so that they pop against the turquoise. If you ever paid attention in art class you should know that orange would be a great compliment.
This is one of my favorite finds from Urban Outfitters recently, finding its way into every ensemble. I bought with this gut feeling I had seen it somewhere. Just a mere week later, looking through old pictures I discovered my best friends owns it. Typical.

Banana Rebuplic is my secret jewelry go-to place. I always find miraculous pieces with killer price points during sales. Add BR to your next jewelry find checklist.

Anthropologie never does me wrong. While getting distracted in search of a graduation present I came upon this necklace and even pretended that my intention was to give it to the graduate. But when really when there is only one left, I knew who it was coming home with. (Thankfully I didn't, she owns that one too!)

If you've been reading Just B long enough you should know this post wouldn't get far without a mention of some nail polish. You've already seen Chanel Turqouise and I loved so much I just kept finding other suitable blues. OPI's No Room For The Blues is vibrant and a good hue for summer. And in a last minute phone order I chose Artful Dodger from Butter London and can't wait to try it.. only so many fingers and toes.

B Emotional

Confession-- I'm an emotional shopper.

When I am sad... I shop.
When I am happy... I shop.
When I am lonely... I shop.
When I want to celebrate... I shop.
When I'm stressed... I shop.

In a week filled with projects, tests, work, events, and pay day (the instigator) I found myself building up my my online shopping bag to de stress and liven up my day! Here are a few things I found along the way...

Purchased on a quick whim after seeing it online I knew I had to have this neon pink sweater. Neon is one of my favorite things this summer (as you have already read) and the pink cardigan by J. Crew is a MUST and lifted my spirits instantly. 2 points for emotional shopping!

When I'm looking to for instant gratification I am rarely dissapointed by Urban Outfitters. Last Fall I found my beloved snake skin watch and I am again drawn to Urban's great source of time. I couldn't decide between the tortoise or the gold (that I've been coveting for sometime now) so I went for both! The metal and tortoise will be much cooler on my wrist than my already cloth band this summer.

Continuing on my urban binge I stumbled upon a floral scarf. I'm obsessed with everything floral patterns right now and when it showcases my favorite orange and corals this season I am obligated to add it to the cart!

Summer dresses are an instant mood booster! You feel girly, comfortable and they keep you cool. I couldn't resist this Silence & Noise bustier dress that just might be perfect for some graduation party events. And how you can you resist a dress with pockets- bonus!

And here is what remains on my wish list for a REALLY bad day. 3.1 Philip Lim Belted Twist Hem Skirt. Perfect for summer and every cute floral print tank I have and just waiting for a bad day to justify the purchase!

B Bright

It didn't take me long to head to my nearest beauty shop to buy the OPI Hong Kong collection once it hit the shelves. And not much longer after that did i already have "A good man-darin is hard to find" painted on my nail beds.

I have always felt that orange is a hit or miss color. it is rare that orange is my first color choice but I'm glad I have discovered that orange is possible. Like most purchases of mine they happen quick. I know what I like so when I saw the M. Haskell necklace on a mannequin it didn't take long for it to be on my neck.

When pairing bright accessories be care careful with your other clothing/accessory selection. Less is more and the orange necklace will give enough of a statement for it all. Don't be shy about orange, just try it once and you may find it will brighten your day!

B Creative

From a young age I couldn't get enough of craft stores. I would beg my dad to take me on a Saturday and he'd ask me "what are you going to craft?" I'd probably most likely roll my eyes and say "I don't know Dad, I will figure it out when I'm in the store!" Which is true till this day. I have always had the knack for crafting and creating.

While I was cleaning my room just a couple weeks ago, I looked at my memory board that held pictures, postcards, etc and realized I'm sick of using it that way. I had wanted a new way to display my jewelry also that was functional but appealing. So being the crafter I am and much a doer in this scenario, I changed my memory board into a new jewelry holder.

I simply took my cheap memory board that I bought at an art & frame store years ago. Small nails work perfect to create the holder so that they don't distract from the jewelry and give the appearance of the jewelry hanging on its own. Simply just nail the nails into the backing until they are secure (they will poke through in the back a bit so be careful). Choose your favorite jewelry to display and add as many nails as you desire to show your jewelry as now wall decor. Feel free to even still addd a few of your favorite photos to still be displayed with your necklaces. Pretty easy huh?

B Ringing

It's not time to ring in the new year yet but that doesn't mean you can't be showing that firework sparkle on your fingers. Everywhere I turn I see cocktail rings on every hand. What I am really loving right now is that you can wear more than just one and not look like a gypsy. I have worn a pair of rings on my right hand for the past 5 plus years. These rings were both given to me by my sister on special events. These Tiffany rings are very understaed with the smaller diamond and pink sapphire but carry a great dear of sentiment. So though they won't be leaving my hand anytime, I still have 9 fingers to dazzle!

Marc Jacobs is always the key to my heart so I am loving his Pave Heart Ring under his Marc by Marc Jacobs line. Some of this other jewelry is so unexpected and reinvented. Have you seen his zipper earrings yet? Everything is so innovative and most all his rings I want to pile on my fingers.

And if you're looking to spread your wings, look at CC Skyes Angel Wing ring. I first found this ring on another website in passing a week ago and saw it was already sold out. Then when I decided to write this blog I had to search the web to remember who it was by and I should have assumed it was CC Skye. The jewelry has a great way of molding metal to trendy accessories you'd want to put on every limb.

Shopping online always gets me into trouble. Its almost worse than walking into the mall because recommendations are made for you and end up appearing easily on the right side of your screen with a perfect connection to your next want. This is how I found the Goldmine ring. I apologize for the horrible line but how could you not want this ring? The dark stones contrast with the bright gold and I am definitely reserving a place on my finger for this one.

I think a big myth with wearing rings is that until you are wed you need to keep your ring finger on your left hand open. Well all my single ladies, this doesn't have to happen and if you need a little love then you'll fall for Erica Anenberg's Je' Taime twosome ring. This ring was made for two, two fingers. I admittedly couldn't help myself but purchase this ring and am anxious for its arrival. Nothing wrong with giving yourself a little love.

B Accented

Just the other day I went into Bank of America to simply deposit my hard working pay check that now is in the form of a fabulous new shoes but anyways the fabulous tellers at B of A were full of  compliments for me. The teller helping me asked where I had found my necklace and I proudly said "target!". She seemed amazed and then puzzled telling me she doesn't think she can pull off long necklaces. The teller in the next cubicle agreed with her saying she can't either. I was appalled and told them they both could of course pull it off. They continued to examine my outfit further and said well maybe we can with something like she's wearing a t shirt and a vest? Where's the vest from? "Anthropologie" I replied. "Where/what's that?" I gasped! And proceeded to give these ladies approximately the best directions to all 3 anthropologies in the area. No one should live without anthropologie in their life. So soon I had made my deposit and left the bank.  There is not one thing a women can not wear or pull off. There are things that are better for your body type to accent your best features but don't you say you can't pull it off!

Jewelry is the topping on the cake. You can't give a cake without frosting, you need to decorate, hence accessories! Now some of you may have other ways of wearing a long necklaces but this is how I decide to wear them. Necklaces are the best way to dress up a simple outfit of t-shirt and jeans. Long necklaces are my favorite of the moment. Long meaning just passed your chest, no longer than your bellybutton. I honestly have some of my favorite jewelry pieces that I wear every day at Target or Forever 21. This is a great way to buy a few different necklaces for cheap! These are great retailers for when you want to layer necklaces. To layer necklaces use a few delicate ones that have different pendants or detailing around the neck. Alot of my blog readers have told me they wished they had the money to buy what I have featured before so I all the necklaces featured above are all from Forever 21 and under $10! All looks are achievable by everyone. But beware, you are paying for what you get so don't be surprised if it only lasts for a couple of looks.

Jewelry rarely goes out of style. Think about your grandmother's pearls, she bought them years ago and jewelry designers are still capitalizing on their classic look. For something away from classic  Anthropologie has very unique jewelry that can be the focus of the outfit. They themselves categorize this jewelry as "Statement" on their website. Anthropologie jewelry can be on the pricier side so be sure it is something you know that you will wear over and over and over again.

Remember a few tips though when adding some jewelry and accessories. If your top already has embellishments on it then you don't need a long bold necklace. You can get a long way with a little bling. If your top has an intricate neckline or something like ruffles where a long necklace may not lay right, try a shorter very delicate necklace. Or opp for no necklace at all and try just some decor for your ears. There are so many options for jewelry that I could write a whole other blog on but really its just the frosting on the cake that accents  and makes the look, which you know is everyone's favorite part!
